Originally built in 2017 for Flexsteel, the 270,000sf heavy manufacturing facility in Dubuque, IA, featured 302 tons of structural steel and 11 tons of miscellaneous stairs and railings. In 2020, the facility was converted into Simmons Pet Food, requiring an expansion that added approximately 50 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel. This expansion included an electrical mezzanine extension, a wastewater addition, a boiler room expansion, and a freezer area. Our work integrated the new steel components with the existing structure to support the facility’s evolving needs.
